CEME POSITIONS — FALL 2011 (deadline has passed):
- Research Assistant: Country Management Reflections from Practice (10 positions available)
CEME’s ongoing Country Management: Strategy, Operations and Leadership in Emerging and Frontier Economies research initiative garners experience from seasoned country managers and executives working in emerging and frontier economies, as well as expertise from Fletcher School faculty and CEME Fellows, to provide best practices, case studies, skill-building workshops and executive training to the next generation of international leaders in the public and private sectors. In 2010-2011, CEME engaged 12 students and paired them with executives in a “Reflections from Practice” exercise, in which the executive shared an event, experience or insight into country management and, with student support, developed a mini-case that was highlighted in a March 2011 CEME conference. In 2011-2012, CEME has obtained funding to continue this exercise with 10 new executives, with the goal of using these cases as teaching materials in future CEME Country Management executive education programs. Student responsibilities will include attending two days of mandatory training; independent research on corporate operations; scheduling and conducting independent interviews with executive partner; and writing both a draft and final version of the Reflection, with input from CEME. These positions pay a stipend of $500 upon completion of a substantial draft, and a commitment of October 2011-March 2012 is required (with much of the work performed independently).
