Gary Shteyngart Discusses "ABSURDISTAN"

The Fletcher School is delighted to host best-selling author Gary Shteyngart for an upcoming discussion on his latest book, "Absurdistan."

We've purchased and distributed several hundred copies here on campus and are encouraging the global Fletcher network to join in and to fortify our already strong community and intellectual ties.

 

Here's how:

  1. Bookmark this page, where we'll host a live stream of the event to be held in ASEAN auditorium.
  2. Pick up or download a copy of "Absurdistan" from your favorite bookstore or library and START READING!
  3. Join us here at 5:30 pm ET on Thursday, February 12, 2015 to watch the live stream and participate in the live online discussion via social media.

Biography

Gary Shteyngart was born in Leningrad. His novels include Absurdistan and Super Sad True Love Story, which won the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize; excerpts from both books were published in The New Yorker. His début novel, The Russian Debutante’s Handbook, won a Stephen Crane Award for First Fiction and a National Jewish Book Award for fiction. He published his first memoir, Little Failure, in early 2014.
