Raising Global IQ: Preparing our students for a shrinking planet book cover
Carl Hobert, F93, is publishing a new book, Raising Global IQ: Preparing Our Students for a Shrinking World. In the upcoming book, Hobert discusses the need for a transformation of education to prepare students to become responsible global citizens. He offers practical steps that K-12 students, teachers, administrators and parents can take, such as emphasizing cultural exchange and honing young people's conflict resolution skills. Regarding his inspiration from Fletcher, Hobert writes: "In [the book] I devote quite a few pages to all that I learned at Fletcher, including teaching the art of preventive diplomacy to youth, and I thank some amazing Fletcher mentors, like Jes Salacuse."
