The Fletcher School’s unique location provides the best of both worlds with the friendliness and tranquility of a classic college town and the urban influence of nearby Boston. Situated on the picturesque campus of Tufts University, Fletcher is only a short subway ride from Boston.

As a stand-alone professional school within Tufts University, Fletcher provides students with a dedicated faculty and focused environment for study and professional development.

Fletcher students join a diverse and accomplished community that extends well beyond the walls of the school. More than 40 percent of Fletcher students come from outside the U.S., representing more than 80 countries.

The Fletcher School's flexible, interdisciplinary program allows students to combine theory and practice, and at the same time gain the breadth and depth of knowledge required for a professional career in international affairs.

Fletcher's internationally-respected professors are at the forefront of their respective fields. They advise world leaders and policy makers, write for scholarly and popular journals, and conduct research to advance the awareness of international relations.

Fletcher's Edwin Ginn Library is one of the nation's largest libraries specializing in the field of international affairs. Fletcher students also have library privileges at Tufts University's Tisch Library as well as the Law Library and Widener Library at Harvard University and 16 other academic libraries throughout New England.

The Fletcher School strives to promote a dynamic student life through its support of over 40 student organizations, events, and publications, ensuring that students' interests are represented in the school's wide range of activities.

Each year, Fletcher hosts world-renowned economists, ambassadors, business leaders, academics, filmmakers, authors, journalists, and prominent members of international organizations and NGOs, through events organized by the school's research centers and programs, student organizations, and school-sponsored lectures series.

With a dozen facilities dedicated to art, music, film, literature and dance, Tufts University fosters a lively arts community. In addition, Tufts University has a host of athletic facilities, including: one of the best outdoor track and field facilities in New England; a gymnasium with basketball, volleyball, and squash courts; a sauna; an indoor synthetic track; a six-lane swimming pool; and a fitness center.

Founded in 1933, The Fletcher School is the oldest exclusively graduate school of international affairs in the United States. The primary aim of The Fletcher School is the same as it was when conceived by its founders: to offer a broad program of professional education in international relations to a select group of graduate students committed to maintaining the stability and prosperity of a complex, challenging, and increasingly global society.

The Fletcher School offers a wide range of computer and information resources to assist students with their work and research, including the Mugar Graduate Lab that includes both PC and Macintosh computers and is open only to the Fletcher community.

The Office of Career Services' (OCS) mission is to help empower students to realize life-long career success by providing resources, education, networking and coaching. Activities and resources include an in-depth Professional Development Program; sector and industry-specific panels and workshops; an on-line career management system; on-campus recruiting; and annual career information events in New York, Boston, and Washington, DC.

Fletcher graduates are uniquely positioned to shape the course of international affairs through their careers as diplomats, civil servants, industry executives, military officers, journalists, scholars, lawyers, researchers, and consultants. With alumni living and working in over 130 countries, and 45 regional Fletcher Alumni Clubs worldwide, there are plenty of opportunities to connect no matter where you are.
