Admiral James Stavridis, Dean of The Fletcher School, sits down with General Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. (MA '92), one of The Fletcher School's most distinguished alumni. When this video was filmed, General Dunford was serving his final weeks as Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps and had been confirmed by the Senate to be the next Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, a position to which he was sworn in on September 25, 2015. In this interview, they discuss General Dunford's path to Fletcher and how he's preparing for the challenges of his new role.
General Dunford is a graduate of The Fletcher School's MA program, a one-year degree for mid-career professionals. While at Fletcher, the General was awarded the Robert B. Stewart Prize for outstanding student.
