Deborah Nutter
Senior Associate Dean, Professor of Practice
Director of GMAP
As Senior Associate Dean of The Fletcher School, Deborah Winslow Nutter is responsible for the school's new strategic initiatives and managing relations with its Board of Overseers and its Asian and European advisory groups. Dr. Nutter is founder and Director of GMAP where she teaches foreign policy leadership. She serves on the Dean's cabinet to advise on key strategic and administrative issues, as well as make budgetary recommendations for the school. Dean Nutter also serves as a special advisor to the Provost of Tufts University for its International Board of Overseers. Prior to Fletcher, she served as the primary architect of internationalization at Simmons College in Boston. As Professor and Chair of the Political Science and International Relations Department, she taught courses in international politics, security studies, international organization, American foreign policy, Soviet and Russian politics and foreign policy, and foreign policy leadership. She also taught at Bowdoin College.
Dr. Nutter holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University where she was an Honorary Presidential Fellow, a National Science Foundation Fellow, an International Studies Fellow, and a University International Fellow. She received her A.B. from Colby College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and with Distinction in Government.

As Associate Director, Emma Heffern is responsible for student services and academic programs. She plans and oversees the residencies and advises students on academic issues and concerns. Emma is a graduate of Wheaton College where she received her BA in sociology and education. She is currently pursuing an MA in Urban and Environmental Policy at Tufts University.

As Assistant Director, GMAP Admissions and Marketing, Nicki Sass is responsible for recruitment and admissions for GMAP and for managing tuition and the program budget. She also coordinates language examinations for students and develops relationships with outside organizations and ministries. Nicki graduated from Dartmouth College with an A.B. in Economics.
Todd McNeil is Assistant Director of GMAP. He joined Fletcher from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health where he was a Software Trainer & Curriculum Developer. He received his B.A. from Stonehill College and has extensive experience in curriculum and e-learning development, multimedia, and training.
As a member of the Technology Team, Chris Barrett is involved every aspect of technology for GMAP: student support and training, evaluation of technologies, multimedia content and design, and faculty and staff support. Before joining GMAP, Chris was a Y2K consultant and provided internal tech support at Scudder Kemper Investments. Prior to that he was a part of the first official IT department at the New England Aquarium. Chris graduated from Boston College with a BA in Communications with a minor in Film Studies.

Richard Murillo

As a member of the Technology Team, Richard Murillo is involved every aspect of technology for GMAP: student support and training, evaluation of technologies, multimedia content and design, and faculty and staff support. Before GMAP, he was a technical consultant for Amherst Computer Works where he specialized in hardware customization and networks. Richard received a BA in Media Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
As GMAP Admissions Assistant, Endri Misho responds to all initial inquires into the program. He also organizes advertising and marketing initiatives for GMAP promotion and information sessions on the road, supporting the Assistant Director of Admissions and Marketing through the application review process, program budget management and fulfillment of the student’s foreign language requirement. Endri received his B.A. from Boston University in International Relations.

As Student Services Assistant, Marni Powers supports the Associate Director with residency preparation and coordination of course materials. Marni is a graduate of Hamilton College where she majored in Art History and Communications.
